Moving Boxes
Moving is stressful enough without spending an afternoon working out which box size does what. We’ve done that part for you. Most moves need the same three sizes regardless of how big your place is, and we’ve stocked exactly those.
Most moves are cross city or just a few suburbs. You don’t need to overcomplicate it. Order what you need, pack up your house, and get on with it.
Which sizes do I need?
We stock three sizes that between them cover almost every packing job in a standard home move. Here’s how most people use them:
Tea Chest
The workhorse of any move. Tea chests are tall and narrow, which makes them ideal for clothes, linen, pillows, and anything bulky but light. They’re also the box most removalists are used to handling, so they stack well on the truck.

Book & Wine
The mid-sized box that earns its name. Good for books, bottles, kitchen items, pantry goods, ornaments, and anything that needs a bit more structure around it. Heavy enough that you won’t be tempted to cram items and overfill it.

The flat box. Useful for framed pictures, mirrors, cutting boards, baking trays, and anything else that’s wide and awkward to fit in a standard carton. Also works well for kids’ toys, linen, and clothes when you’ve already filled the tea chests.

How many do I need?
It depends on how much stuff you have and how well you pack, but as a rough guide most people underestimate. A one-bedroom move typically needs around 20 to 30 boxes across the three sizes. A three or four bedroom home can need 60 or more. Our packing methods guide and packing tips can help you work out the most efficient ways to pack before you order.
